Masters Members & Competition Update

Hello Fellow Master Bowlers! We welcome you to another season that very well could be the most interesting/difficult one yet in the history of our association. The MBAS held their Executive meeting on August 30th and then our SAGM/AGM on September 19th. Both meetings had an in person attendance following SHA guidelines with some participants joining the meetings on zoom. At the Executive meeting we all came to the agreement that we will start up our season as normal as possible with some contingency plans in place in case we are not able to hold our qualifying competitions on our normal dates. A motion was put forward and passed that said:

If the November Qualifying Competition is not able to be held then we continue with the best 3 of 4 competitions to be held on the third weekend in March and May 2021.

The Executive held a conference call on October 7th and the plan is to go forward with our November Qualifying Competition following the Saskatchewan Health Services an Saskatchewan Provincial Government Business Response Teams protocols and guidelines. Updated Membership and Qualifying Competition Entry Forms will be posted soon under the
Masters tab on the Bowling Federation of Saskatchewan’s website www.saskbowl.com. All qualifying competition fees must be paid via e-transfer prior to midnight on the Friday of qualifying competition weekends and Membership Fees must be paid via e-transfer prior to
midnight on the Friday of the 1st qualifying competition weekend. For new members that signed up in the 2019/2020 year, we are extending for 1 year their new member discounts. We want to thank you all for your support by joining our association this year; your membership dues help us run our association. Please note at this time, there is no guarantee that there will be a National Event come the end of June 2021. If there is/is not any qualifying competitions or National Event, we will all know that everyone did the best they could under the circumstances presented.

Our November qualifying competition is scheduled for November 21st and 22nd in Saskatoon (2 houses) for Teaching and Senior Men’s and Women’s (Teaching and Senior men will bowl at a separate house from the Teaching and Senior women) and those in the Scratch division, they will be in Prince Albert. We plan on drawing for the Progressive Draw that was started last
November so watch for more information as to how you can get your tickets and monies to Carrie.

For those that will only be participating in the Master/YBC competition, please complete the Associate part of the Membership Form and e-transfer your fees prior to your house rounds.

We are working closely with Rhonda Kurbis from the Bowling Federation Office, Bowl Sask and Saskatchewan 5 Pin Bowlers Association regarding the gathering and relaying of information required to safely run competitions for our sport. Note: At this time, the guidelines state there
will be no spectators allowed at our qualifying competitions. We will keep everyone informed along the way of any other guidelines or changes to guidelines that are specific to our sports’ competitions.
